How to Configure Attribute Mapping for Microsoft Active Directory Sync
Attribute Mapping allows you to sync custom employee data from Microsoft Active Directory into Recognize, including fields such as birthdays, hire dates, locations, departments, and more.
By mapping these fields, employee information stays consistent across systems while supporting features like automated Anniversaries and more detailed reporting and analytics.
Custom field creation and attribute mapping are available for Enterprise customers or as an add-on feature.
If you plan to map data to a custom field in Recognize, please contact support@recognizeapp.com before configuration so the custom field can first be added to your account.
To Configure Attribute Mapping
- From the Company Admin Portal, navigate to Settings
- Open the User Management section from the Quick Jump menu
-
Click Manage next to Attribute Mapping
Once inside Attribute Mapping:
-
Select the appropriate Provider Type
Note: The same provider type must be used for all attributes you plan to sync. -
Enter the corresponding Microsoft Key / Schema ID for each attribute you want to sync, such as:
- Hire Date
- Birthdate
-
Complete the following fields for each attribute:
- Recognize Attribute Name
- Mapped to User Attribute
If mapping to a custom Recognize field, ensure the custom field has already been created by the Recognize Support team.
-
Click Save
