Redemptions for Visa and Mastercard Gift Cards will look slightly different than redemptions for other gift cards within Recognize, as they require an additional step. While the initial selection process will look a lot like other gift cards, the redeemer will receive two emails - one for confirmation of the redemption, and a second with claim details and a link to a portal where redeemers will choose between a physical or digital card. Please see the below details for step-by-step instructions on the redemption process for Visa and Mastercard.
Selecting a Visa or Mastercard Gift Card from the Rewards Catalog
- Select the 'Rewards' icon from the top left navigation menu
- Once in the Rewards portal, you will notice that Rewards show in either a grid view or carousel view by category, and that there are multiple filtering options. You can use the 'Search' box and type in Visa or Mastercard to easily get to these options
- You will be able to view the minimum and maximum amount of points that are required to redeem the Visa or Mastercard Gift Card at the bottom left-hand corner of the Reward
- You will also be able to see the delivery type for the Gift Card in the bottom right-hand corner of the Reward, which will specify whether the Reward is fulfilled instantly or requires extra time to fulfill
NOTE: If you choose a physical card, there will be a fulfillment wait time.
- Once you are ready to move forward with your redemption, select the image of the Reward to open the Rewards' detail page
- On the Reward details page, you can view more information on the vendor, specifics about the Reward, and learn more details for how to claim it

- When you're ready, select the variant (or amount of points) you'd like to redeem for the Reward (for company items there may be a size or other type of selection to choose from instead)
- Once you have made your selection, you can click the 'Redeem' button
- Once you click 'Redeem', you will receive a pop-up message to confirm the redemption. If you are sure you'd like to redeem your points for the Reward, select 'Redeem'. If you do not wish to redeem points for that Reward, you can select 'Cancel'
NOTE: Once a vendor-fulfilled Reward (e.g. Visa eGift card) is selected & confirmed, it cannot be refunded!
- Once you have confirmed your redemption, you will receive a second pop-up window letting you know to look out for an email with further claim details
- Click the 'Got It' button and check your email for confirmation of your redemption. The second email you receive with details for claiming your gift card will have a subject line of, ''Visa or Mastercard Prepaid Card redemption was Approved!' See the below section for instructions on how to claim your gift card.
How to Claim your Visa or Mastercard Gift Card
- As mentioned above, you should have received two emails after redeeming your Visa or Mastercard Gift Card. One is a redemption confirmation and the second is a claim email with the subject line, 'Visa or Mastercard Prepaid Card redemption was Approved!'
- Open the email with the subject line 'Visa or Mastercard Prepaid Card redemption was Approved!', where you will find additional information on how to claim your Gift Card
- To continue with claiming your Gift Card, click on the provided Redemption Link
- You will then be redirected to 'My Digital Wallet' where you will have the option to select a Virtual or Physical card
- By choosing a Virtual Card, you are choosing to instantly receive your gift card and have immediate access to your card number, expiration date and security code
- By choosing a Physical Card, you are choosing to receive a physical plastic card in the mail (delivery time will vary depending on location)
NOTE: There is a fee associated with choosing a physical card, which adjusts the value of your gift card.
- Once you have chosen the delivery type for your Gift Card, you will fill out all required fields in the Digital Wallet form
- Review and verify that all the information you entered is correct, then click the 'Confirm' button at the bottom left of the page
- Once you click Confirm, you will receive a pop-up window to review the Cardholder Agreement.
- If you have read and agree to the Cardholder Agreement Terms, select 'Agree'. If you do not agree to the Cardholder Agreement Terms, select 'Disagree'. If you would like to print the Cardholder Agreement, you can select 'Print'
- Once you have agreed to the Cardholder Agreement Terms, you will be redirected to your Digital Wallet, confirming your Visa or Mastercard Gift Card was claimed Successfully. You can now close your browser, view payment detail, add the card to your digital wallet, or print the confirmation page (If you have chosen a Virtual Card, you will be able to see the card information immediately and start using your Gift Card right away)
- If you have questions regarding your Visa or Mastercard Gift Card (e.g. how to check your balance, where to use it, etc.), you can also click the 'FAQs' button in the bottom left-hand corner of your Digital Wallet
- Additionally, after you have successfully claimed your Visa or Mastercard Gift Card, you will receive a confirmation email with your selection and details as shown below
NOTE: If you redeem multiple Visa or Mastercard gift cards back to back in the same day, just be aware that your claim emails may be stacked in your inbox (meaning, you may need to expand the email chain to view separate claim details).
