Manager Recognition Reminder notifications through both email and SMS help keep recognition consistent, timely, and top of mind for leaders. ⭐
These reminders encourage managers to recognize employees who may not have received recent recognition, helping organizations create a more inclusive and balanced recognition culture where employees feel seen and appreciated for their contributions. 👏
📅 Notifications are enabled by default and are automatically sent weekly on Thursdays at 8:00 AM based on your company’s global timezone settings. Messages are sent to users assigned the Manager system role.
📧 Email notifications are sent from team@recognizeapp.com.
🔎 The direct report included in the notification is selected based on last recognition received. This means the employee who has gone the longest without receiving recognition will be featured in the manager reminder notification.
Each reminder includes a rotating prompt designed to encourage meaningful recognition moments, including:
💬 “Has [employee name] done something recognition-worthy?”
💬 “Let [employee name] know their hard work is appreciated.”
💬 “What is [employee name] doing that’s awesome?”
💬 “How is [employee name] demonstrating your company values?”
💬 “What is something great [employee name] has done recently?”

Personal Recognition Reminder Notification Settings for Managers
Managers have the flexibility to manage their personal email and SMS notification preferences within their individual user profile settings by following the steps below.
- Select 'Menu' in the top right-hand corner of the screen
- Select the 'My Settings' from the drop down menu

Select 'Notifications' from the left navigation panel

Toggle the notification setting for 'Direct report recognition reminder email notification' and/or 'Direct report recognition reminder SMS notification' to your desired state
Global Settings for Manager Recognition Reminder Notifications
These Manager Recognition Reminder Notifications are enabled by default for email, however Company Admins can control these notifications at a company level from within Company Admin Portal > Settings.
To turn this setting ON/OFF as a Global setting for your Managers:
- Select 'Menu' in the upper right-hand corner of your screen
- Select 'Company Admin' from the drop-down menu
- Select 'Settings' from the left side menu
- Select 'Manager settings' from the right-side navigation pane to jump to Manager settings
- Under “Global direct report recognition reminder notifications,” toggle Email and/or SMS notifications ON or OFF. When enabled, the selected notification type will be applied globally. When disabled, it will override new user settings and individual user profile notification preferences.

Under “New users direct report recognition reminder notifications,” toggle Email and/or SMS notifications ON or OFF. When enabled, these settings will apply to new users by default for the selected notification type.
NOTE: If user accounts were created while this notification setting was turned off, existing Manager defaults may also be set to off. If you would like to update this setting for all existing Managers, please contact support@recognizeapp.com to request that these notifications be enabled organization-wide.
