This exercise is designed to help you map out the current state of your employee recognition process and identify areas for improvement. Follow the steps below to complete the exercise:
- Use sticky notes or a virtual whiteboard to create a list of all the steps involved in the current employee recognition process. Start by listing all the steps involved in your current process for recognizing employees. This could include everything from identifying the employee to be recognized, to selecting the type of recognition, to delivering the recognition. Do this for each of your programs if you have more than one.
- Identify any pain points or areas that need improvement in the process and mark those. Once you have a list of all the steps involved in the process, identify any areas where the process is inefficient or causes frustration for employees or managers. This could include delays in the recognition process due to manual steps, lack of clarity around the criteria for recognition, or difficulty in accessing the recognition program.
- Brainstorm potential solutions to address the pain points and improve the process. With a clear understanding of the pain points in your current process, brainstorm potential solutions to address these issues. This could include streamlining the process with automated approvals or Rewards, providing additional training for managers, or simply improving the communication around the recognition program.
- Evaluate each potential solution and select the one(s) that are most feasible and likely to be effective. Once you have a list of potential solutions, evaluate each one based on feasibility, potential impact, and cost. Select the solution(s) that are most likely to be effective in addressing the pain points in your current process.
- Develop an action plan for implementing the selected solution(s). With your solutions selected, develop a detailed action plan for implementing them. This should include timelines, resource requirements, and responsibilities for each step in the process.
- Monitor the implementation of the new process and make adjustments as necessary. Finally, monitor the implementation of the new process and make adjustments as necessary. This should include collecting feedback from employees and managers, reviewing usage data and adoption rates regularly, and making necessary improvements over time.
Note: This exercise is intended to be a preliminary activity and may be subject to change as the employee recognition process is further developed within the Recognize platform. Use this exercise as a starting point to improve your current state employee recognition process and create a more positive and productive work environment.
